The project

This elegant, modern villa in Gardone Riviera overlooks the picturesque shores of Lake Garda. The newly constructed residence is the result of a complete demolition and rebuild, seamlessly blending contemporary design and style with the surrounding natural landscape and rich material textures. Following and complementing the natural contours of the sloped terrain, the villa’s architecture plays with geometric volumes in a sequence of solid and void spaces. Massive elements, movable partitions, and transparent glazed sections come together to give the building its distinct rhythm and character.

The intervention

To achieve high energy efficiency and optimal living comfort, the design team specified Brianza Plastica’s Isotec Parete ventilated façade system. The insulation layer features a two-tone cladding of 120 x 60 cm porcelain stoneware slabs, anchored to the Isotec Parete stiffeners using concealed clips to create an elegant, linear aesthetic. For this project, the Isotec Parete panels were installed vertically and fixed directly onto the load-bearing structure using a completely dry-fit method. The panels fit together perfectly via dovetail joints on the short sides and rebated edges on the long sides, ensuring precise alignment and continuous thermal insulation. The building’s envelope is defined by a skilful alternation of materials that evoke the elements and colours of nature: from dove-grey and sand-coloured ceramics, and grey quartzite window surrounds to aluminium balcony cladding with fixed and sliding shutters in a Corten finish, down to the glass balustrades.

The result

The contractor installed the Isotec Parete System and ceramic cladding across 500 sqm of complex façades over a period of three months. The rainscreen façade system offers numerous benefits to the building envelope. In summer, it acts as a solar shield for the insulation, reducing the thermal load; in winter, it provides protection against severe weather and driving rain. Natural ventilation in the cavity between the cladding and insulation improves overall comfort in every season, facilitating the dissipation of solar heat in summer and promoting moisture drainage in winter.
